Getthra "Penny" Ann Pettegrew
June 21st, 1930 - October 18th, 2011
Getthra A. "Penny" Pettegrew age 81 of Jefferson passed away Tuesday October 18, 2011 at Alden Estates of Countryside. She was born on June 21, 1930 in Madison Wisconsin, daughter of the late Erich and Mathilda (Steckelberg) Manke. She married Harry Pettegrew on October 17, 1964 he preceded her in death on April 2003. A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church Jefferson. She had been employed as a Telephone Operator, and at Zwiegels in New York. She was also employed at Ladish Malt Company and Stoppenbach in Jefferson. She was also well known as an Avon Representative in the area. Penny loved life, she enjoyed old time music, playing cards, and visiting with friends. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters; Mary (Gary) Haag of Jefferson, Jill (David) Duttinger of Hamlin New York, Terry (Pettegrew-Cady) of Rochester, New York. Three step-children; Daniel Pettegrew of Fort Atkinson, James Pettegrew of Milton, and Susan (Victor)Wendt of Fort Atkinson. 7 grandchildren; Kim (Todd) Sullivan, Jennifer Grossman, Jeremy (Leah) Haag, Cassandra (Eric) Hyde, David Duttinger, Ryan Swift, Troy Cady. 6 great-grandchildren, Brother; Gerhart (Marge) Manke of Jefferson, Brother-in-laws Eugene Pettegrew of TX, sister in law; Judy (Everett) Strauss of Watertown. Many nieces, nephew, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her son Gary Kriedermann, and brother Willard Goth, Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 22, 2011 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Memorial may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
