Gil William Gilliland

Gil William Gilliland, 54, a resident of Lakewood, Jefferson, CO passed away Friday March 11, 2016 in his home. Gil was born Easter Sunday April 2, 1961 to James and Patty Gilliland. He graduated from Alameda senior high, class of 1979. He worked construction for 25+ years. Gil erected many buildings and bridges in the Denver metro area. Mr. Gilliland enjoyed restoring and driving classic cars, and all of his many "toys." He loved camping, skiing, and dirt biking with his children. Gil was amazing cook and enjoyed sharing his food and life stories with all his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18 at 10 AM at Aspen Mortuary 1350 Simms Street, Lakewood, CO 80401 and proceeding to Golden Cemetery, 755 Ulysses street, Golden, CO 80401. Serving as pallbearers will be Eli Gilliland, Joe Runkle, Robert Carothers, Mike Petrafeso, Mike Iacavetta, and Dan Campbell. Gil is survived by his daughter Sarah and son Eli Gilliland, daughter Rose Marie VanWeston, mother Patty (Jack) Guiden, and sisters Cheryl Markham and Lisa (Doug) Keel. He was preceded in death by sister Dandy Pankau and father James Gilliland.
