Gilbert L. Montoya

Gilbert L. Montoya, 78, a resident of El Valle de Arroyo Seco, New Mexico, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away from this life on April 25, 2020. Gilbert passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 31, 1941 in Truchas, New Mexico to Patrocinia and Florian Montoya. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie; his daughter Shirley Montoya-Chavez (Ron); granddaughter Desiree Chavez (Tim); great granddaughters Estrella & Abigail: sister Genoveva Archuleta; special nephew Jody Archuleta (Annette); special niece Judy Archuleta (Rod); and many other extended family and friends that he loved. Gilbert was a devoted husband and father and he made a friend with anyone he met. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, gardening, working in the yard and random road trips with his best friend and wife Marie. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3314, and loved being involved in the events and serving the community. The family would like to thank Dr. Karen LoRusso, Christus St. Vincent's Regional Cancer Center, the staff at Del Corazon Hospice and very special nurse Andrea Kotch. A Mass of Christian Burial and interment at the Holy Family Parish and Cemetery will be celebrated at a later date.
