Gilbert Eugene Roman, 76, Golden Valley, AZ passed away under the care of Hospice on October 27, 2016. Gilbert was born on August 9, 1940 in Detroit, MI to Albie Jerome Roman, Sr. and Margaret (Krisak) Roman. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School and was drafted into the US Air Force, serving from 1963-1969. After taking some college classes he worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. Gilbert fell in love with the beauty and peace of Arizona, moving to the area. He then owned and operated his own heating and air conditioning company. As he grew older, he owned a dog training and boarding house while caring for his own beloved dogs. Gilbert was proud of his Slovak heritage. Friends and family will remember him for many things - most likely of all, his beautiful smile, his wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh, his amazing, sometimes unbelievable life stories, his deep faith and devotion to God and his love. He is survived by his brother Daniel Roman, Tampa, FL; and many nieces and nephews of Detroit. MI. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Albie Jerome Roman, Jr. and Kenneth J. Roman.
