Gladys Mae Leyden was born in Grand Forks and passed away on September 10, 2016 at Polar Ridge in North St. Paul. She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Babe" Leyden; son, Colin; grandson, Sean and sisters, Leone Steifel and Betty Hueffmeier. She is survived by her daughter, Carlye (Peter) Leyden Schmitt; daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Jack) Schmidt; grandsons, Peter (Christine), Peter John (Jenny) Schmitt, Andrew (Laura Colin) Schmitt, and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Petey, and Lucy. Thanks to the Polar Ridge Memory Care team and BrightOn Hospice team for their professional care and kindness. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Sandberg Funeral Home (2593 7th Ave. E) in North Saint Paul. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private interment. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
