Gladys Ivy Stone
February 24th, 1909 - June 3rd, 2003
Stone, Gladys Ivy, 94, St. Petersburg, died Tuesday at Bayfront Medical Center. She was born in Hickory, Kentucky, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Ivy, deceased. She came to St. Petersburg in 1973 from Jackson, Tennessee. She graduated from Union University in Jackson in 1933 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She later returned to that institution for a twenty-five year career as college administrator, retiring as dean of women. Survivors include on son, James Daniel Stone, M.D. and his wife, Laurie, St. Petersburg; one brother, Robert W. Ivy and his wife Nancy, Hopkinsville, Kentucky; two grandsons, Daniel J. Stone and his wife Linda, and Brandon C. Stone; and one great-grandson, Daniel Braxton Stone, all of St. Petersburg.
