Gladys Marie Zigre
February 19th, 1923 - June 27th, 2017
Gladys Zigre, 94, passed away peacefully at 7:18am on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Banana River Villas Assisted Living in Merritt Island, FL. She was born February 19, 1923 in Perth Amboy, NJ, to Alma and Julius Blanchard and is survived by her brother William Blanchard. Her husband Joseph Zigre, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her daughter, Judith Sterling and son, Joseph Zigre, Jr. six grandchildren Linda Baran, Joseph Zigre, III, Sean Sterling, Colleen Zigre, Tiesa Zigre, and Tina Hope as well as nine great-grandchildren. Gladys was a long-time resident of central Florida enjoying her retirement with friends and family in Cape Canaveral, FL. Gladys was a Eucharistic minister at the Church of Our Savior in Cape Canaveral, Florida. She loved to sew, crochet, bake and play card games. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was always there to lend a helping hand and she will be missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Church of Our Savior, 5301 N Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931 – on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:30 am.
