Glen Laton Hill
January 10th, 1938 - April 24th, 2013
Glen L. Hill, 75, went to be with his Lord at his home in rural Eaton, CO on April 24, 2013. He was born January 10, 1938 at Pretty Prairie, KS to George and Elsie Hill. Glen attended school in rural Nickerson, KS until the family moved to a farm near Joes, CO in 1947 where he continued his education. In 1956 he married Hazel Cox, his high school sweetheart. They lived many places in Colorado, moving from Aurora, to Cope, Fort Morgan, Greeley and finally to the Galeton Area. Glen was a mechanic all of his life and operated the Galeton Garage for 40 years. He enjoyed repairing the vehicles for the farmers and neighbors in the community. He was a volunteer fireman and served on the fire board and sanitation board. Glen was very courageous in his long fight against colon cancer that took his life. He will be remembered as a loving family man and a Christian. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Greeley. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; sons, Roger (Sheryl), Dale (Lori), Larry (Kathy); daughter, Glenna (Saul) Madrid; brothers, Keith (Elsie) Of Eaton, Wayne (Amy) of South Dakota, Dean (Phyllis), Roy (June) of Cope, CO, Harold (Wanda) of Texas, Darrell (Connie) of Briggsdale, CO, Gary (Jackie) of Kirk, CO; sisters, Rosetta Zimmerman of Greeley, Nita (Paul) Phillips of Yuma, CO, Mary (Herb) Davidson of Greeley; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Adamson Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at First Assembly of God, 3000 West 16th Street, Greeley. Interment will be at Eaton Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to "Hospice of Northern Colorado” in care of Adamson’s Funeral & Cremation, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
