Glenda Marie Grimstead
October 8th, 1965 - August 6th, 2022
Glenda Marie Byrum, 56, of Loveland Colorado, gained her heavenly wings on August 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Glenda was a native of Suffolk Virginia. She attended Manor high school and Tidewater Community college in Portsmouth Virginia. Glenda began her career in the shipyard as a Welder until she humbly took over the family business, Oscar Byrum plumbing. Proudly honoring her mother and father, Glenda was the first female to obtain her master plumber license in the state of Virginia and the first woman to be a master plumber for Kembal Mechanical, where she held the title of superintendent. She wasn't one to go by titles or boast about achievements, to her, she was just a humble servant of the Lord. Glenda was a woman of strong faith from young. She was a member of the Salvation Army of Suffolk spending many holidays with her grandmother and later on, her own children, serving and feeding her community. She was the person to give a complete stranger her last dollar, her last meal, and the jacket off of her back just to help someone else. She instilled those values in her friends, employees, children and grandchildren not only through words but through action every day. Glenda loved everything about the Ocean, Mickey Mouse and the Miami Dolphins, the only thing she loved more was being with her family. She was a mother, friend and helping hand to everyone she met - the rock that held everyone together. She will be greatly missed. Glenda is survived by her loving partner of 20 years, Joe and her children, Robbie, Richy, Kyla, Krissi, Michael, and Joey. Grandchildren, Deon, Jordan, Jaxon, Alabama, Sebastian, Adella, and Ryver. Glenda was reunited in heaven with her parents, Oscar Lee and Vera Marie Byrum, her brother Frankie Lee Byrum, and many more friends and loved ones. A celebration of Life will be held at Portsmouth City Park on Sunday September 18th, 2022 at 11am.
