Glenda Haight
January 31st, 1938 - January 5th, 2024
In Loving Memory of Glenda Elena Haight Glenda Elena Haight, born on January 31, 1938, in Panama City, Panama, lovingly raised by her mother Ana and stepfather Roberto died peacefully at home on January 5, 2024, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. On July 14, 1962, she embarked on a lifelong journey with Richard Haight, marrying him in Panama while he served in the US Navy. This marked the beginning of a life filled with adventure, as they moved across various cities in the United States during Richard's naval career. Glenda was the anchor of their family, raising three sons: Richard Jr., Glenn, and William. In 1980, Glenda and her family found their home in Saint Petersburg, Florida, where they settled and created lasting memories. The home located in Shore acres backed up to a Denver Park and her Grandchildren named her "Grandma with the park". A woman of deep faith, Glenda found solace in prayer and attending weekly mass. Her commitment to her beliefs extended to active participation in several faith-based organizations. Glenda's dedication to her community was further evident in her role as a CCD teacher at Saint Raphael, where she imparted her wisdom and values to the next generation. Known for her cheerful demeanor, Glenda never hesitated to share kind words and compliments with those around her. Her warmth and positivity created a welcoming atmosphere that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Glenda is survived by her loving brother Roberto Winter Jr (Anna), her sons Richard Jr (Mary), Glenn (Susan), William, and her cherished grandchildren Evan, Gabbie, Henry, and Theodore. While her earthly journey has come to an end, Glenda is now reunited with her beloved husband, Richard William Haight, who preceded her in death on September 2, 2013. In celebrating Glenda's life, let us remember the love she shared, the joy she brought, and the enduring legacy of kindness she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace. A service will be held at St Paul's Catholic Church, 1800 12th St N, St. Petersburg, FL on January 19th at 10:30am.
