Glenola "Glen" Livingston

Glenola Jane Dykes Livingston passed away in Gilbert, AZ on May 25, 2024 at the age of 89 due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. 

She was born and raised in Limestone, TN and resided in Franklin, TN until relocating to Gilbert, AZ in October of 2020 to live with her son, Michael. She was employed by Vanderbilt University for 45 years. She attended Grassland Heights Baptist Church in Franklin, TN and most recently Mesa Baptist Church in Mesa, AZ. Glenola loved her church families, sang in the choir, loved Sunday School, loved helping in the church kitchen, enjoyed helping with Bible School, and taking care of children in the nursery. She was a devout Southern Baptist her entire life.

Glenola loved to travel; visiting the Smoky Mountains with her dear friends and visited many countries with her son Michael. She enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers, had a zest for life, never met a stranger, and made the world a much better place for all of us. 

Glenola is preceded in death by her parents - Cleo Burma Dykes and Closen Dykes, sisters - Anna Belle Segarra and Charlene Saults, and brothers - Jerry Dykes, Kreed Dykes, Billy Dykes, Rex Dykes, and Leedon Dykes. She is survived by her son, Michael Blaine Livingston and her sister Janice Baines of Jonesborough, TN and several nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday July 16, 2024 from 11am until 2pm at Grassland Heights Baptist Church, 2316 Hillsboro Road, Franklin TN 37069 in the fellowship hall. All are invited.
