Gloria Martuscello

Gloria L. Torsone Martuscello, 87, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on July 20, 1931 a daughter of the late Louise (Tangredi) and Joseph Torsone. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Gloria worked as the store manager for a well known fabric store in downtown Amsterdam for many years. She also was the manager of the former Crystal Clear Retail Store in Amsterdam. ` She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Survivors include her beloved husband, Ralph Martuscello of Amsterdam. In addition to her husband she is survived by her dear son, David Martuscello of Amsterdam. One sister, Rita Elaine Kopec of Galway, NY and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gloria is predeceased by her dear sisters, Jane Torsone, Hilda Stanley and Mary Petrillo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 29, 2019 at 11:00A.M. at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey M. L’Arche, M.S. as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday prior to the Mass from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. Mary’s Church, Main St. Amsterdam.
