On June 13, 2023, Gloria Nelson passed away peacefully in Sun City, Arizona at the age of 82 after a protracted battle with cancer. The central focus of Gloria’s life was her loving husband, Roy, her adoring children, Jeff (Janna), Kevin (Barbara), Laura (Roger) Nielson, Shawn (Julie), and Becky (Art) Reategui, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family and her faith were everything in her life. Gloria had a lifelong love of gardening, the LDS temple, and family history. Gloria was born November 6, 1940, in Logan, Utah but spent most of her childhood in Burley, Idaho. She met the love of her life, Roy Nelson at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. They married and raised their family in Idaho Falls and Shelley, Idaho. After many years, they retired and moved to Sun City. True to form, they continued to focus on family attending every event that they could from soccer games to band competitions, until her health no longer allowed it. Despite her large family, she always made time for everyone and made love her lasting legacy. Services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 10:00 am at the LDS Church located at 13014 N 108th Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351.
