Goldie M. Sorling Byers A funeral for Goldie Byers, 94 of Chico will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Brusie Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. and a graveside service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico at 2:00 p.m. Goldie passed away on February 29, 2016. She was born on December 30,1921 in Los Angeles, Ca. She married Frank Sorling in Los Angeles. Goldie and Frank moved to Oroville with Frank's job at DMV. Frank passed away in 1974. Goldie met and married Bill Byers. She worked as his office manager for Bill Byers International dealership until his retirement. They traveled around the world extensively taking many cruises visiting every country they could. They rode elephants in India, and camels in Egypt. Goldie loved gambling, especially poker machines in Reno. They went to live at the Terraces in 1999 where they made many friends. Bill passed away in 2006. She is survived by sons Frank {Louise} Sorling and Rick {Julie} Sorling, a nephew Craig {Janice} Plotts, all of Chico. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
