Gonzalo Escobedo Torres

Gonzalo Escobedo Torres passed away on May 22, 2023 in Santa Cruz, California. He was born on December 7, 1941 to Ruben Torres and Maria Del Carmen Escobedo. He was a native of Michoacan, Mexico having been raised in Villa Morelos, Michoacan. Throught his life, Gonzalo also lived in Salinas, Los Banos, and Santa Cruz, California. Gonzalo worked in various agricultural jobs. He landed a job at Bud of California/Dole Produce where he retired as a Field Foreman. Gonzalo was an avid San Francisco Giants fan, and also a fan of all things baseball. In his younger years, Gonzalo loved fishing off of rocks. He was a Mexican movie expert. He was very proud that he obtained his American Citizenship in the 1980’s. Gonzalo is survived by his son, Reuben Torres; adoptive daughter Sylvia Cervates; step-daughters Martha Imperial and Rosalina Reyes; stepsons Fidel Imperial and Ricardo Imperial; sisters Elitania Torres, Bertha Torres Franco, Isabel Torres CMST, Carmen Torres, Maria Torres Diaz, and Martha Torres Ibarra; brothers Salvador Torres and J. Guadalupe Torres; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Esther Armida Torres and stepdaughter, Clara Agama. A Funeral Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11am at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. Refreshments will follow.
