Gordon Wendler
March 3rd, 1927 - May 6th, 2012
Gordon Max Wendler March 4, 1927 †" May 6, 2012. Gordon, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on May 6, 2012. He will live in many hearts forever. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Max and Elmora Isabel (Landon) Wendler and brother and sister in law Marion (Curly) and Dorla Dee Wendler. Gordon is survived by many who loved him. Elaine Louise Rowley was his loving wife, partner in Christian faith, best friend and square dance partner for 62 years. He will also be missed by eldest daughter Susan and son in law Larry Eno, their daughters Colette and Celeste; his son Jim and daughter in law Cindi Wendler, their children Kindi and her husband Adam Wahlstrom , Jenna, Jillian and her husband Ryan Neeley, and Max; and his youngest Patricia Wendler and her partner Winnie Nazarko. Gordon†™s great grandchildren are Jack, Colt, Nash, Reece and Hudson. We honor and carry Gordon†™s lineage with pride and love. As a young man, Gordon was a rancher in Ainsworth, Nebraska. During WWII he served in the Navy, and later graduated from the University of Nebraska. He worked as a Civil Engineer for 40 years at the Dept of Interior increasing our country†™s hydroelectric capacity. After retiring and because he was never one to sit still-Gordon was Facilitates Manager at Shepherd of the Hills Church for 10 years, keeping its cranky heating systems going for many years. Communities benefited greatly from Gordon†™s presence-countless hours at this church, his kids activities (he was a Little League president), Kiwanis and as a general community volunteer utility infielder. Birth: Mar 4, 1927 Death: May 6, 2012
