Grace Carlson-Ellis of Tacoma, WA, lost her valiant fight with cancer Sunday, April 19th. She was surrounded by her longtime partner Kevin Kilgus, his sister Nancy whom Grace also considered a sister, as well as her children and grandchildren. Grace was born February 3, 1953 at the naval hospital in San Diego, CA to Harley Ellis and Mary MargaretHutter. She graduated from El Cajon High School with honors. She moved on to study at Grossmont College. Grace is survived by her children, John (Summer) and Melissa (McKenzie) Carlson, grandchildren Matthew, Alivia and Bryce. She also leaves her brother Frank (Kathy) Ellis, sister Ruby (Keith) Hall, as well as her beloved cousin Bernice (Larry) Hofer and numerous nieces and nephews. Grace loved her family above all, and was loved in return. Grace loved flowers and gardening, playing games with friends, puzzling and spending time with family. She was honest, loyal and loved life. Grace Carlson-Ellis will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace. A memorial service is being planned for May 8th at 12:10pm, St. Leo’s Church in Tacoma.
