Grace Marziano Conti

Grace Marziano Conti 94, formerly of the Stratton Apartments, Amsterdam, passed away April 27th at the Veterans Home in Boulder City, NV. Born in Avola, Sicily, Italy on Sept. 28, 1916, the daughter of the late Mario and Savaria Falbo Marziano, she came to the United States in 1921 with her family and settled in Johnstown. Following her marriage in 1937 she moved to Amsterdam. She worked for a time in various glove factories and also Mount Loretto Nursing Home. She was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Third Order Secular Franciscans . Grace also volunteered for the Mental Health Association for over thirty-five years. She relocated to Las Vegas in 2006 to be near her family. She loved crocheting and was an artist. Her family will always remember her as a kind and loving woman with always a smile for everyone. Her husband, Joseph A. Conti predeceased her on Sept. 2, 1992. She leaves her children; Thomas J. Rosemary Conti of Las Vegas, Eleanor Wynn of Gray Court, S.C., Mario R. Conti of Amsterdam and Carl Elaine Conti of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three great-great grandsons and nieces, nephews. Her brother Salvatore Marziano, and sisters Lena Czech and Angelina Williams also predeceased her. Services are Friday, May 13th at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial which will be offered at 9:15 am at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, May 12th from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
