Grace Rose DeSimone, 103, died on Feb. 18, 2020 in Venice, FL. She was born on Dec.18, 1916 to Camilo and Maria Calista in Angelsea, NJ. Grace lived in Gibbstown, NJ and was a member of St. Michael’s RC Church. She had four siblings: Benjamin, Anthony, Anna and Elpino, all deceased. Grace married Louis Caira in 1937 and they had three sons: Louis, Anthony, and Richard. When her husband died in 1947, Grace, with her young sons, went to live with her parents. During this time, Grace was an active member and president of both Our Mother of Sorrows Sodality and the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Michael’s. After her sons were grown and married, in 1972 Grace married Daniel DeSimone, Sr., of Mickleton, NJ. Her extended family includes Sam DeSimone (Fern), Louise Zembroski (Walter), and Daniel, Jr., deceased , (Nancy). Grace’s husband passed away in 2000. She continued to live in Mickleton and spent the winters in Venice, Florida with her son Anthony for about eight years. Grace is survived by her sons: Louis Caira (Kristin), Anthony Caira (Mary Ann), and Richard Caira (Donna). She will be forever remembered and missed by all of her Caira and DeSimone descendants including 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Grace’s viewing on Friday, 9:00 – 10:45 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Michael’s RC Church, 313 Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown, NJ 08027 where the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at New St. Joseph Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ. If you choose, donations in memory of Grace may be made to Guardian Angels Regional School, 150 S.
