Grace Meyers

Grace Meyers, aged 102, passed away on February 4, 2024. She was sharp-witted until the end and delighted in her family, five generations in total after the arrival of her two great-great-grandchildren when she was 98 and 100. Grace was born in Live Oak, CA, into a farming family that later became instrumental in the growth of Yuba and Sutter County. Her parents, Loyal and Alma Tipton, owned Home Lumber Company in Yuba City, CA; she and her husband Fred Meyers co-owned Meyers Hardware in Marysville, CA, with her sister, Ruth Anderson and brother-in-law, Robert Anderson. Her brother-in-law, George Meyers and his wife, Mardel, owned Meyers Roofing, where Grace worked for decades. She was preceded in death by them all. Grace leaves behind her daughters, Judith Dyl and Peggy Selig (Dennis); her grandchildren, Jennifer Selig, Andrea (Marty) Horan, Joanna Dyl, and Theodore Dyl; her great-grandchildren, Hayley Odom (Robb) and Hayden Horan; and her great-great-granddaughters, Isla and Blair Odom. Grace was loved by everyone who crossed her path, from her daughters' friends to her co-workers, from her church community to her circle of friends old and new, from her doctors and dentists to the staff at her assisted living facilities; she was interested in everyone and made them feel special. Her family will remember her as their beloved matriarch, a spunky woman with a great sense of humor who enjoyed reading, traveling, playing board games, and who relished her family with all of her generous heart.
