Gregg Wesley Stephenson

August 15th, 1973 - July 27th, 2024

Gregg Wesley Stephenson was born to Gerald Stephenson and Margo (McLeod Cathro) Stephenson on August 15th, 1973 at U.S. Kimbrough Army Hospital, Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland. He was a very happy, easy-going baby who was very curious. He loved to eat until he was around five years old, when he became a picky eater.

As a child, Gregg was quite adventurous. He loved sports, including soccer, skateboarding, and riding his bike, embracing the freedom and thrill that came with every ride. He was very active in the Cub Scouts and later in Boy Scouts where he advanced to Eagle Scout after completing the many requirements as well as volunteering for many charitable organizations.

In high school, Gregg discovered that he was a great swimmer. In fact, he was an all-state swimmer in the breaststroke. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and boating. He often helped his dad by crewing on his sailboat. Gregg worked part-time jobs all through High School and while attending college. He qualified as a meat cutter and was well liked by his co-workers and customers.

Gregg graduated from Kentridge High School in Kent, WA. After moving to Colorado, he attended Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, then Metropolitan State University of Denver, graduating with a degree in accounting all while working as a meat cutter. Gregg's love for numbers led him to a career as an accountant, where he found satisfaction in the precision and challenges of his work.

In his early adult years, Gregg developed a passion for bodybuilding, finding strength and solace in the discipline it required. If Gregg wasn’t at work, he could be found in the gym lifting weights and being a social butterfly. Gregg also had a love for cooking, and he took great pride in preparing meals for his family and friends, sharing his culinary creations with those he loved.

On September 14th, 2002, Gregg married Michele Kaup. To their union, a son, Graham Wesley, was born. Gregg's greatest pride and joy was his son. When Graham was younger, they enjoyed trick or treating, swimming and watching the fireworks on the 4th of July. After Gregg and Michele divorced, they remained friends and shared birthdays and holidays with Graham.

In the summer of 2020 Gregg met his current life partner, Natasha Sexton. They were meant to be, and inseparable from the start. They enjoyed time with family, making meals together, working out, and traveling. Gregg’s faith was very important to him and together they grew their faith and would attend church regularly.

Gregg was preceded in death by his mother, Margo Stephenson, his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents.

Gregg Wesely Stephenson is survived and deeply missed by his beloved Natasha; his son Graham; his retired Marine father, Gerald currently living in Daytona Beach; and his sister, Michelle Marple living in Portland, OR. He also leaves behind many friends who will forever miss his boisterous, outgoing, and friendly personality.
