Celebration of Life

Gregory Lynn Amick was a loving husband, father, son, and brother.  He left this earthly world on July 26, 2024 after a brief but hard fought battle with esophageal cancer.

Greg was born to Harold Leonard Amick and Annette Clifton Amick on July 3, 1969 in Columbia, SC.  After graduating High School he attended the School of Radiologic Technology at the Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.  He then graduated Midlands Technical College’s School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.  Upon graduating, Greg joined Midlands Cardiology team and worked with Dr. Chesoni for over 20 years.  In 2023, Greg joined the MUSC Cardiology Nuclear team where he loved his work family.

Greg loved spending time in the outdoors, chopping wood, and he was a gun enthusiast.  He also enjoyed spending time with his wife Kelly and exploring different foods and restaurants. Greg’s children were such an invaluable part of him. He also enjoyed spending time with his parents and extended family on Sunday afternoons.

Greg is survived by his loving wife Kelly (Knotts) Amick of WEST COLUMBIA; a daughter, Julia Amick Schaffer (Bryan) of WEST COLUMBIA; a son, Christopher Amick (Julia) of WEST COLUMBIA; a step daughter, Erin Outz of WEST COLUMBIA; his Mom, Annette (Clifton) Amick of Gaston; brothers, Bruce Amick (Cindy) of Pine Ridge and Mark Amick (Kelly) of WEST COLUMBIA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harold Leonard Amick.

The family would like to thank the caregivers, nurses and doctors with MUSC Columbia, South Carolina Oncology Association, and Lexington Medical Center for the care and concern shown to Greg during his time of illness.  Many thanks to friends and family for all of your support.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Chapin Christian Community Church or a pet rescue shelter of your choice.
