Gregory Michael Jones April 29, 1953 - September 14, 2019 On the afternoon of September 14, 2019, Greg Jones of Lake Havasu City was lost to us all. Greg was born in Los Angeles, California to Eugene and Betty Jones. He was raised in Torrance, California and grew up with a love for fishing and the outdoors. Greg maintained a passion for fishing his entire life and found great inner peace in this most tranquil activity. Over the course of his life, Greg was involved in dirt bike racing, speed boats, drag boats, and dune buggies; he loved just about anything that had a motor. In November of 1985, Greg married his soulmate Connie and together they raised two amazing boys. Greg was so proud of his sons. Kyle currently serves as a Chief in the United States Navy while Matt followed his grandfather and father into the oil business; he works as a Planner for Valero Refinery. Greg was a tremendous role model to his boys showing them the value of a strong work ethic and the importance of family time. Whether it was waterskiing, dirt bike riding, ATV riding, camping, hunting, fishing, or just talking, it was done as a family. The time spent with family and friends was everything to Greg. Everything else in life was like icing on a cake! Greg had a wonderful career working 34 years at the Mobil Oil Torrance Refinery, making many dear friends during that time. His experience and expertise culminated in a trip to Saudi Arabia, assisting in starting up the Mobil refinery there. After retirement, Greg and Connie moved to Marysvale, Utah for eight years, where they continued to enjoy the outdoors and made so many wonderful friends. In 2016, they moved full time to Lake Havasu City to be close to his parents. Greg impacted and changed the destiny of so many people. Some may have only known him a short time, others were fortunate to have called him a friend for over 60 years. Greg would want us all to remember him by living to our full potential; work hard, and never forget the importance of family and friends. He is in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, for in some way, big or small; he has touched our lives forever! At the end of our own lives, he will be on the list of people you were glad to have known. He is survived by his loving wife Connie; his parents Eugene and Betty Jones; his son Kyle and wife Jessica; his son Matt; his sister Bonnie Carrington and husband Steve; his aunt Sharon Wilson and husband Kim; his nephew Michael Carrington; his nieces Kristin and Kayla Carrington; his great-nieces Hailey and London Carrington, his many cousins; and two lifelong friends, Wayne Smith and Ronnie Williams.
