Gretchen B. Glew

On July 13, 2011, Gretchen B. Glew of South Tacoma, WA, passed away peacefully at the Weatherly Inn of Tacoma, Wa. The world's Best Teacher, Gretchen taught 46 years (mostly 3rd grade) in Washington State, 44 years in Tacoma. She was born in Oakland, CA, but moved to South Tacoma at 2 years old with her parents. She is survived by her sister Marie Davis, of Tacoma, her 2 children, Katherine and Raymond, both of Seattle, a nephew, Doug Davis, of Tacoma, a niece, Kathie Frieze, of Fircrest, a niece, Cindy Bonaro, of Steilacoom, a grand niece, Jenny Vanderwerff, of Shoreline, WA, a grand nephew, Don Frieze, of Bellevue, WA, a grand nephew Adrian Bonaro, of San Leandro, CA, a grand niece, Ashleigh Rossman, of Fircrest, WA, a grand niece, Chelsie Frieze, of Laguna Beach, CA. Funeral Services are with Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home and will be held at a grave-side ceremony on Wednesday, July 20th, 2011, at The Tacoma Cemetery in South Tacoma., 5:30 PM. The family suggests any donations go to The American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
