All Veterans Funeral & Cremation - Colorado Springs
Griffin Darnell Rucker
April 10th, 1998 - July 5th, 2020
Griffin was a talented writer, a great student, a loving brother and an amazing son. He was not a big talker, but when he spoke he displayed a sharp sense of humor and demonstrated his deep intelligence. He attended UCCS and CU Boulder where he would have been a senior. He wrote for the school paper, the CU Independent, where he was an assistant editor for their sports bureau. Griffin also wrote for The All Around, "The Number One Source for all Things Sports and Pop Culture". His articles are available on both of those websites. As a Colorado native, his love of sports came from watching his beloved Denver Nuggets as a child and through his life. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan, much to his fathers chagrin. Griffin loved Star Wars, even those episodes less loved by others. When he was finally diagnosed with ADHD he was able to read their stories for enjoyment for the first time. He was preceded in death by his best cat friend, Toby. He is survived by his father, Scott Rucker; mother, Rebecca Gimbrone; his sister, Rory Rucker; and his best dog friend, Charlie. A quote from his Facebook page reads: "Life is full of ups and downs. Without the downs, the ups dont mean anything." He will be forever loved!
