Guy Clark Fussell was born on February 28, 1931 to William Jackson Fussell and Mary Sue Williams in Jacksonville, Georgia. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated advocate of country, community, and family. Guy was one of the founding members of the Warner Robins Exchange Club and he was a co-founder of the annual Warner Robins Independence Day Celebration which is currently in its 36th year. Guy was a long time member and deacon of Shirley Hills Baptist Church and many other civic organizations. Guy was a retired funeral director who served many families during their hardest times. He was married to the love of his life, Clarice Dent Fussell, for an astounding 66 years. He had a loving and extensive family. He is survived by wife, Clarice as well as four children: Pamela F. Jordan, Susan F. Gavin Livingston (Sonny), Kay F. Putnal and Guy Clark Fussell Jr. (Vicki), 10 grandchildren: Stefanie, Kendra, Benjamin, Audra, Alison, Kane, Anderson, Clark, Christopher, and Victoria, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister Frances Koger (Augusta), brother-in-law Claude Lewis, sister-in-law Peggy Fussell (Columbus) and numerous nieces and nephews. Guy was predeceased by his brother Bernard Fussell, sister Mary Lewis, son-in-laws Ken Jordan, Robert Gavin, and Stan Putnal. He was truly a dedicated family man and was affectionately known as “Papa” to family members and friends. He passed away in the comfort of his home, knowing how valuable and loved he was while surrounded by family. He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 20, 2018, 2:00PM at Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Reverend Andy Cook and Reverend Jacob Green will officiate. A visitation will be held Sunday Evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
