Memorial

On Friday, February 12, 2021, Gwen Elizabeth Cameron Tuck, passed away at the age of 91. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years Paul Rutherford Tuck, daughter Robin Lee Garcia (Salvador), five grandchildren Elizabeth "Joy" Dry (Marc Reid), Angela "Gigi" Denise Tow (Kevin), Nathan Michael Tuck (Lidu), Paul "Anthony" Garcia and Caroline Elizabeth Garcia, seven great-grandchildren Emily Dry, Ritchie Ramirez, Shirley Ramirez, Sandra Tuck, Madeline Burch, Alana Burch and Alex Tuck, her sister Judy Hawkins, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Paul "Alan" Tuck and her three sisters Mary Francis Bryant, Betty Jean Steele and Wanda Lee Cameron. Gwen, the second oldest of five girls, was born to the late Daniel and Ruth Cameron, on March 1, 1929 in Hope Mills, NC. Her father would eventually move their family to Kannapolis, NC where she would spend the remainder of her life. She was a 1947 graduate of Cannon High School (later A.L. Brown). On December 19, 1947 she married the love of her life, Paul R. Tuck, of whom she would affectionately call "P.R.". She was a devoted daughter, sister and wife. But she found one of her most treasured roles in life was being a mother and eventually a grandmother. She loved her family fiercely, and there was no limit to what she was willing to do for them. When they would tell her "I love you" she would immediately respond, "I love you more!" The greatest thing she passed along to her family was her love for Jehovah God. She was moved to dedicate her life to Jehovah, and she symbolized that by water baptism in 1957. For over 63 years she faithfully lived up to that dedication. She is fondly remembered for her hospitality and being a source of encouragement in the spiritual lives of many. We are confident she rests safely in the memory of her heavenly Father. The Tuck and Garcia families would like to express their deep and sincere appreciation for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff at Transitional Health Services who have lovingly cared for her over the past few years.
