H. "Jensen" Beulah Peterson
H. Beulah (Jensen) Peterson passed away November 14, 2013 at Panorama Convalescent Center in Lacey, Washington. She was 95. Born October 23, 1918, in Sharon N. Dakota, she was a daughter of Ingeborg Serena (Rasmussen) and John E. Jensen, Jr. Her husband of 51 years, Kenneth E. Peterson, died September 6, 1994. They were married on February 17, 1943, at The Riverside Church in New York City. Beulah graduated from Sharon High School and Mayville Teachers College, and taught elementary school in North Dakota; Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and Denver, Colorado. She was a devoted Lutheran throughout her life and was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Olympia. While traveling with her husband’s job to Canada and Tripoli, Libya, she learned new cultures, cuisines, foreign languages and oil painting. After their return to Colorado and then retiring to McMinnville, Oregon, she continued her favorite pastimes of bridge, golf and traveling with Ken. Her survivors include son, Steven J. and Susan K. Peterson; daughter, Terry (Teresa) Estergard, all of Olympia; grandchildren, Kristopher Peterson of Colorado, Stacey Peterson of California, Allison Estergard of Oregon, Kelsey Estergard of Washington and David Fleischhauer of Washington; her much adored great grandchildren Jaiden and Jazmyne Estergard, Elle and Braden Peterson, Sierra and Ambrea Peterson, and Aleeza and Nicholas Adams.
