Harold S. Collum, 87, husband of Constance Collum of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his home on November 8, 2014. Mr. Harold S. Collum was born on December 6, 1926 in Fort Francis, Ontario Canada, to the late Lloyd Alberta Collum and Karen (Salstrand) Collum. Harold was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor. A proud World War II veteran, he served faithfully in both the United States Navy, and the United States Marine Corps. He was an amazing singer and a talented dancer. Mr. Collum was a man of principal that when he gave his word it could be counted on. Harold loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time at the beach with them. What Harold enjoyed most was being a faithful and loving husband and father. Mr. Collum is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years Constance P. Collum, daughters; Constance Ruse of Bradenton, FL, and Phyllis Deborah Ostrander (Charles) of Ft. Myers FL, sons; Lloyd W. Collum (Ann) of Columbia SC, and Charles Richard Collum (Andrea) of Elgin, SC, three grandchildren; Jennifer Ruse, Alex Ostrander, and Sebastian Ostrander and two great grandchildren; Morgan Banks, and Chloe Banks. Mr. Collum was predeceased by a sister Margaret Collum and a brother; James Lloyd Collum. The family would like to thank Hospice Advantage, especially Ms. Nelly and Ms. Gaynell for the tender and compassionate care that they provided. The family will receive friends at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington SC, 29072 on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 6 PM until 8 PM. Graveside services will be held at Woodridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11 A.M.
