Harold Gray

Mr. Harold Gray, Jr. 80, of Amsterdam passed away peacefully on March 17, 2012 at the River Ridge Living Center, with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Harold & Eva Treis Gray Sr., he was born on September 16, 1931 in Schenectady, NY. Mr. Gray moved to Amsterdam as a child and attended St. Joseph's School, and Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He is a veteran of the Korean War in the United States Army, serving from March of 1952 until March of 1954. He was last employed by General Electric in Schenectady as a Crane Operator and Follower. He was employed there for over thirty years, retiring in 1998. He is a former member of St. Joseph's Church and a current member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Most of all Harold enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. Harold married his beloved wife of over fifty five years, Jean Bellows Gray on November 12, 1955. Together they had a son Ronald H. Gray Dianne of Amsterdam; beloved grandchildren Jennifer Marie Willmann Anthony, Kevin Ryan Floyd Gray, Danielle Elizabeth Jasewicz Daniel all of Amsterdam; great grandchildren Arianna Gray, Bradley Jasewicz and Brandon Jasewicz. He is also survived by an Aunt, Christina Goudard of Clifton Park and his pug Jazz. In addition to his parents, Harold is predeceased by his brother John Gray. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Brian List as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors at Fairview Cemetery will follow. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 4 until 7 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to River Ridge Activities Fund, 100 Sandy Drive, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corners Road, Amsterdam NY 12010.
