Harold B. Henry, 83, of East Clinton St., Johnstown, passed away Friday September 21, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Gloversville on March 6, 1924 he was the son of Richard and Gertrude Meyer Henry. Harold worked as a box-cutter for 39 years at JW Sissons Box Co. in Gloversville. He retired from the Greater Johnstown School District as a custodian. Harold was a WWII POW Veteran. He served as Grand Marshall of the Memorial Day Parade in Johnstown for several years. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #472. He also visited schools to teach students and children about the importance of the United States Flag. Harold was very active in the community, he formed ?Hank?s Wildcats? Baseball Team in Gloversville. He was active in the Johnstown Reformed Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also enjoyed cooking and loved his family and many friends. Harold is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Henry, to whom he showed his love and devotion for 61 years of marriage. Their fifteen children, Richard Henry Rose, David Janet Henry, Linda Rick Rendo, Sandra Wasson Nunzio, Beverly Gillespie Phil, Darrell Henry Tirzah, Gary Julie Henry, Dan Mary Ellen Henry, Dale Patty Henry, Deborah Robert Blayzor, Pamela Harold Bell, Mark Henry Dawn, Hope Henry, Robert Henry Martha and Janet Henry; a brother, David Kuebaugh; two sisters, Shirley Mormile and Marilyn Crankshaw; twenty four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews and his three dogs, Tina Marie, Isaac Garth and Gertie. Harold was predeceased by his parents and three sisters, Audrey Kiernan, Eleanor Acquilla and Harriett Henry. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM from the Johnstown Reformed Church, 351 North Perry St. with the Rev. Bryan Dykema, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Ferndale Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harold?s memory to Mountain Valley Hospice or to the Johnstown Reformed Church.
