Harold (Hal) Jean Hogan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 25, 2011. He was born on March 19, 1927, to Harold Preston Hogan and Marian Jean Hogan. His parents, only brother Bruce, great nephew Aidan, great nieces, Abbey and Ellie and mother-in-law, June preceded him in death. He leaves behind, his loving wife of 33 years, Sharon; daughter, Kathleen (Edward) Wolf; sons, Timothy Hogan, Eric (Skip) Hogan. He is survived by three grandchildren, Michelle (Bill) Thompson, Sam Hogan, and Murphy Hogan. Also mourning his loss are his father-in-law, Leland; brothers-in-law, Frank (Bonnie), Allen (Joyce); nephews, Jason (Tammy), Phillip (Jenna), Sam (Libby); niece, Jenny (Mike); great nephews, Sam, Alex, Tyson, Wil; great nieces, Shelby, Tatiana, and Olive. The son of a WW I pilot, and grandson of a Civil War Andersonville Prison Survivor, Hal lived life to the fullest. At 16, he lied about his age to enlist and serve his country. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II, serving in South Pacific campaigns aboard the USS Kula Gulf and USS Steamer Bay. Hal worked joyfully for 34 years as a passenger service representative and agent-in-charge at Trans World Airlines. He was proud of his achievement as a Coast Guard licensed captain and was twice elected Commodore of the Tampa Cruis-A-Cade Club. After retirement he also enjoyed driving buses for school children's field trips. In 2000, he was named Hillsborough County's Department of Education's Outstanding Senior Volunteer. Hal was the senior most volunteer with 16 years at Channel 8 On Your Side Consumer Helpline. As a volunteer at Tools for Teachers, he enjoyed his role checking out school supplies for teachers. In TWA's airline parlance, Hal Hogan has "gone west". In lieu of a funeral, there will be a private family celebration of his life. Memorials may be made in his name to Ruby Team, LifePath Hospice, 12973 N. Telecom Pkwy., Suite 100, Temple Terrace, FL 33637, or www.lifepath-hospice.org
