I am sorry that I never had the opportunity to know Harrilyn. We were 4th cousins. I did get to know her father, Rev. Harry Chalk, and her brother Foy. It was not unusual to have someone ask me if I was kin to Harry or Foy. Harry had told me that he did not know the Chalk side of his family so it took some time to figure out our exact relationship. Our common ancestor was Carville Tudor Chalk who moved to South Carolina from Maryland more than 200 years ago. I will not be able to attend the memorial service this evening but want to express my sincere condolences to her close family members. I will be happy to share what I know of our Chalk family with anyone who may have an interest. Richard Chalk Hilton Head Island, SC [email protected]

Blessed with long life, but even with all those years I know they were not enough for those who held sweet Harrilyn so dear to their hearts. To her loved ones, I extend my deepest condolences. May God’s promises bring you comfort and peace. Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:29

Harrilyn was one of the most compassionate dedicated Christians I’ve ever known. She was always loving and kind and ready to help anywhere needed. My friend Judy and I met her over 20 years ago at Christian Life Church and we formed a close bond. We helped each other in many ways and loved taking day trips some of which I recorded in my Day Trip Diary on NextDoor. She was faithful to her God and family and friends. My mom Lois Sightler loved her so. We will miss her but know she is with her Lord and Savior. Jenny Mack and Lois Sightler
