Harry Drew Fanning
May 13th - January 23rd, 2021
On January 23rd 2021, Harry Drew Fanning, , was taken to be with his heavenly father after an Two-year battle with lung cancer.
Harry was born May 13,1940 in El Paso Texas to Earl and Ruby Fanning along with his brother Larry Fanning who all preceded him in death. He married Dorothy Aiken on August 22, 1964 (who preceded him in death) and joined the Navy to serve in Vietnam in 1966-1970. Harry and Dorothy had three children Christopher Barajas (who preceded him in death), Michael Drew and Deana Lynn Fanning. In 1976 he relocated from El Paso Texas to Gig Harbor, Washington with his family and he worked as a commercial electrician until he retired in 2004.
Harry made wonderful memories boating, and taking RV trips to the rodeo with wonderful friends. Harry also took up skiing at the age of 60 and enjoyed ski trips with friends and family.
Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Harry is survived by his, son Michael and Stevie Fanning, daughter Deana Fanning, his niece Barbara Bauer, and nephew Eric Fanning, and 8 grandkids Margaret and James Enelow, Sarah and Jared Wilkerson, Teresa and Wil Gaunt, Jared and Alyssa Fanning-Lytle, Jack Fanning, Emerson Fanning, Andie Barajas, Maddie Barajas, and 5 great grandchildren Graham, Reis, Charlotte Wilkerson, and Luka and Remy Lytle. Harry cherished his role as a grandfather.
Harry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his passion for life's adventures.
A memorial for Harry will be held on Sunday July 28th at 1pm at the home of Deana Fanning on Fox Island.
