Harry Morton, 83, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away at Cape Canaveral Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy, four children: Harry Morton Jr, Karen Cartwright, Deedy Shadid, SuZan Morton, eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his sister Margaret Morefield, nephew Harold Morefield Jr, and his beloved dog, Leo. Harry was born in Salisbury, NC. He left to pursue a career in the military. Harry served in the US Air Force for 25 years where he met many of his best friends. Through the military, he traveled abroad including tours in Turkey, Italy and Morocco. After retiring from the US Air Force, Harry worked for Pan Am and EG&G at Kennedy Space Center in Environmental Health where he enjoyed being part of the Space Program. He graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rollins College. Viewing for Harry Morton will begin 10:00 A.M. followed by a funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday September 10, 2017 at Beckman Williamson Funeral Home Viera, Fl. Full Military honors will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery Scottsmoor, Fl at 2:30 P.M.
