Biography Kernersville - Harvey Andrew Isom, 73, went home to be with his Lord February 11, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 3:00PM Tuesday February 15, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown. A native of Carroll County, Virginia, Harvey was the son of the late Blanche Frances Whitter and John William Isom. He retired from NC Baptist Hospital and in 1999 Harvey received the President's Citation Award. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Edith Marie Morton Isom, sister Hazel Virginia, and brothers James Franklin Isom, Woodrow William Isom, and Glenn Wesley Isom. Survivors include his daughters Charlotte Waddell and Wade of Kernersville, Diana Lane and Mark of Danbury, Dawn Rhymes and Brad of Kernersville, and Angie Blanton and Josh also of Kernersville; sons Gary Andrew Isom and Jo Anne of Gastonia, and Harvey Randal Isom and Le'Shana of Winston-Salem; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Nelson and James of Woodlawn, VA, Mary Johnson of Ennice, NC, and Mandy Jennings and Starlin of Speedwell, VA; brothers John D. Isom of Woodlawn, VA, and Delmar Isom of Wytheville, VA; sister-in-law Pauline Isom of Galax, VA; and numerous loving nieces and nephews who adored him and will miss him dearly. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from Noon until time for the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the Isom family at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com .
