Harvey Charles Milliman H. Charles Milliman July 4, 1923 – July 27, 2015 Chuck Milliman born July 4, 1923 to Fred and Bernice Milliman in Tacoma, living 92 fulfilling years. He left us, living in his home with loving wife JoAnn Milliman of 36 years. He was raised in Mammoth, UT with brother John operating the family gas station. After serving 3 WWII years in the European and South Pacific Theaters with the US Army, he returned to Utah receiving a Bachelors degree from the University of Utah in 1949. He, wife Colleen and son Greg moved to Eugene, OR and soon after son Roger was born. Chuck initially worked in banking and then in medical administration at the McKenzie Willamette Memorial Hospital and the Centennial Medical Group retiring in 1989. He was active in Rotary and the Oregon Medical Association. Chuck was recognized by the Governor’s Office serving on the Lane County Boundary Commission 1974-76. He married Jo Ann in 1979 together raising sons Joe and Tony. He is survived by wife Jo Ann, sons Greg (Mary), Roger (Nancy) Milliman, sons Joe and Tony Holmgren. Brother John Milliman (Teddy), 8 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 13 Nieces and Nephews. Chuck was thrilled in 2013 to take an Honor Flight to Washington, D C to view the WWII Memorial and other memorials with other veterans, son Greg and grandson Carl Milliman. The Oregon coast was a frequent visit for all including Siltcoos Lake and Lincoln City. He built rowing frames with Greg and Roger beginning their white water rafting experiences in 1971 on the McKenzie and John Day, followed by floats on the Rogue and Deschutes Rivers. Chuck loved his Family, leaving us with many memories of western states vacations teaching us to laugh, love and fish! In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Chuck’s name be made to either the American Cancer Society or Sacred Heart Hospice. There will be private celebration of his life on August 23.
