Ms. Hazel Davis, 75, of Williamston passed away on April 17, 2024 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Born in Windsor, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Sarah (Cowand) Phelps. She retired from her career as an elementary school teacher after 28 years. She taught in Martin County and was incredibly dedicated to her job and students. Hazel is survived by her son, Grisson Davis and wife, Kelly; her grandchildren, Nathan and McKenna Davis; her sisters, Ann Phelps and Ellen Davenport; and her cousin, Edna Tice. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Phelps. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
