Hazel "Jeanny" Jeannette Overcash-Thompson
July 8th, 1956 - February 18th, 2013
Hazel Jeannette "Jeanny” Overcash-Thompson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, answered the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 18, 2013. Jeanny was born on July 8, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas to Thomas Crews and Ella Mae (O’Steen) Crews. She was raised in northern Florida and Georgia and graduated from Carrollton High in Carrollton, Georgia in 1974. She married Bryan Overcash in 1974 and after the birth of their two boys, moved to Platteville, CO. Jeanny volunteered extensively and worked at Independent State Bank in Platteville, Renewable Fiber in Fort Lupton, Weld County Bank and Town and Country Veterinary P.C. in Platteville. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Aims Community College. She attended Fourway Baptist Church in Hudson. She will be missed by her husband, Dr. Timothy Thompson, whom she married on February 14, 2003; four sons, Joshua Overcash of Platteville, Jeremiah Overcash of Greeley, Brice Thompson and Seth Thompson of Pierce, CO; six grandchildren, Tanner Overcash and Drew Overcash of Greeley, Mia Overcash and Paige Overcash of Henderson,CO Braeden Overcash of Greeley, and Cloey Overcash of Henderson; two daughter-in-laws, Lindsay and Wendy Overcash; two sisters, Jackie Crews Black and Deborah Crews Tighe of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Allen Crews of Jacksonville, FL, and David Crews of the state of Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her sisters-in-law. Jeanny also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins in north Florida. She adored and treasured her family and many friends and the wonderful times they were able to share together. She shared her many talents by sewing and making gifts for family and friends. Jeanny was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Crews; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert O’Steen; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Thompson; her parents, Thomas J. Crews and Ella Mae Norton; stepson, Bradley Thompson; and Ike, (her dog). She was soon followed to rest by her fish, "Sam”. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, at 10 a.m. at Fourway Baptist Church, 9966 County Road 41, Fort Lupton, CO 80621. Memorial donations may be made to "Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County” or "A Woman’s Place” in care of Adamson’s Funeral & Cremation, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
