Obituary Heather Keaten, 47, of Fort Collins died on Sunday, December 18th after a courageous battle with brain cancer. At her passing, she was surrounded by her loving family. Heather was born July 17, 1969 in Ft. Collins to Dr. David Lee & Sandy Thomas. While at Fort Collins High School, Heather excelled in scholastics, swim team, choir, track, theater and marching band where she played the saxophone and was a drum major. After graduating in 1987, she attended Fort Hays State College in Kansas where she received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Music. Returning to Fort Collins, she met and married the love of her life, James Keaten. Together they raised three wonderful, caring, and compassionate children. Heather lived every moment to its fullest as a swim coach, personal trainer to triathletes, yoga instructor, and many other activities. Heather made many lasting friendships at her places of employment, such as Limelight Fitness, Huntington Hills swimming pool, and the Fort Collins Club.
