Heidi Jo Barrett Hilliard

Heidi Jo Barrett Hilliard died December 1, 2018 in her home in Olympia, Washington. She was 52. Heidi was born on September 8, 1966 in Seaside, California, to parents, Sharon and Terry Barrett. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in International Studies and French in 1988. She married David Hilliard in 1991. The Hilliard’s lived in Federal Way, Washington, where they both worked as mortgage brokers. Heidi spent 20 years in a battle with cancer. She loved life and faced the many hardships posed by illness with hope and optimism. She was a courageous and inspiring role model for so many individuals who were also engaged in their personal battle with cancer. She succeeded in reaching her goal of seeing her son grown to manhood and holding her grandson in her arms. Heidi is survived by her son, Christopher Hilliard of Olympia; his fiancée, Lorraine George; their son and her grandson, Damon; her brothers, Aaron Barrett and wife Pamela Barrett, of La Porte, Texas, Terrence Barrett and wife Melissa Florres Barrett; several step brothers and sisters; her father and stepmother, Terry and Kimberly Barrett of Neenah, Wisconsin; and by her mother and stepfather; Sharon and Bob Braden of Olympia. She will be buried in a private ceremony on December 7, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, P.O. Box 19023, Seattle, WA 98109-1023.
