Heidi Sterrett

Heidi M. Sterrett, 32, of Golden, CO, passed away at home on 10/15/2014 of auto-immune conditions. Heidi was born in Santa Clara, CA, and graduated from Golden H.S. in 2000 (Y2K!), where she proudly participated in advanced choirs and musicals. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Northern Colorado, Nursing School. Due to debilitating medical issues it was necessary for Heidi to withdraw from UNC. Determined to continue her medical education, Heidi attempted to sign up for nursing classes whenever she had a “healthy streak.” She was thrilled when she completed the St. Anthony’s EMT BASIC-I Certification, but even this healthy window included two brain surgeries. Heidi endured many surgeries and lengthy hospitalizations. Most recently, she was hospitalized in May for pneumonia. Unfortunately, she became septic, was put on life support until late July and recently discharged from the physical rehab in September. She is survived by her parents Renate and Robert Sterrett, and her new puppy Teddie. Per Heidi’s request, there will not be a viewing or memorial service. Her preference was to have a “Celebration of MY Life” that will occur in early 2015. She asked that friends and family be given enough time to plan for participation in her celebration.
