Helen Louise (Richards) Cumberland passed peacefully at the age of 90, on Friday, July 6, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. †¢LIFE * Born: August 30, 1921 in Sellersville, PA * Parents: C.R. Richards and Bertha (Gayman) Richards * Brother: John R. Richards * Marriage: March 15, 1944 in Tulsa, OK to Harold (Hal) Eugene Cumberland * Education: Tulsa Central H.S. Class of 1939, University of Oklahoma Class of 1943 with a degree in Social Work, President, University Independent Women * Worked as a sound engineer at KVOO radio station in Tulsa, OK during the war (where they called her †œJunior†�), retired from the Denver, CO City Auditor†™s office after 16 years in 1987 * Enjoyed dancing, sewing, gardening, carpentry and bridge. * Member of D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution), Sigma Kappa Sorority advisor, President of Denver Republican Women†™s Club 1972-73 and member of the Presbyterian Church. * She always joined in with her children†™s escapades even when the runaway go-cart landed her in a cow pie. †¢ FAMILY * Survived by her children Tom (Catherine) Cumberland of Lexington, KY; Susan (Brian) Hull of Hood River, OR; Laurie (Doug) Meyer of Aurora, CO; Rick (Nancy) Cumberland of Aurora, CO and Jeff Cumberland of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren * Predeceased by parents, brother, husband and son, Robert Allen †¢SERVICES * Private Services Will Be Held * In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen†™s name to Project Angel Heart who delivers meals to Jeff Cumberland (Helen†™s pride and joy) five times a week.
