Helen M. Iacobucci
June 22nd, 1925 - March 10th, 2021
Helen M. Iacobucci, 95, formerly of Canajoharie, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at The Teresian House in Albany. Born in Canajoharie, NY on June 22, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Joseph Paluzzi and Florence Rose Paluzzi. A lifelong area resident, Helen graduated from Canajoharie High School and had many friends in Canajoharie and surrounding areas. She later worked as a supervisor for Beech Nut in the bacteriology laboratory until she stopped working to be a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the former St. Peter’s and Paul’s Roman Catholic Church and Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church. Helen was a Eucharistic minister and church school teacher for 14 years; a former member of the Alter Rosary Society; a secular member of the third order of St. Francis of Assisi; and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Helen’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved deeply. She was a constant cheerleader for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, proudly bragging about them to anyone willing to listen. All of her extended Paluzzi, Iacobucci & Conti family will miss her greatly – she held them dear and loved their visits through the years. Helen was proud to say her name was ‘Helen Therese Rose Marie Paluzzi Iacobucci’, always including her communion and confirmation names. She loved playing cards and feeding anyone who came to her home, making sure they took something home with them, just as her mother, Florence, always did. She had a silly and mischievous sense of humor and loved to surprise everyone with an unexpected comment followed by a big laugh. On December 15, 1946 she was united in marriage to Mario ‘Larry’ Iacobucci, whom she loved to dance with and who shared her love of family. That union was blessed with 53 years of marriage until his passing on April 24, 1999. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Elsie, John, Rose, Eleanor and Victor. Helen is survived by her two daughters Patricia McNamara and Marisa Iacobucci; three grandchildren, John, Andrew and Nancy; three great grandchildren, Christopher, Olivia and Elliana; and her sister, Eileen and brother, Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 1339. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s & Paul’s Cemetery, Canajoharie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Hope Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Please visit the online memorial at www.brbsfuneral.com
