Helen L. Macy passed away of natural causes on March 30, 2012 at home. She was born in Youngsville, PA on January 27, 1925 and served with the United States Marine Corps Women Reserves. She met her husband, John (Jack) Macy, in May 1946 and they were married in November of the same year in Treasure Island, CA. The Macys lived in Rochester, NY, Wilmington, DE and in Schenectady, NY. Helen worked for the New York State United Teachers for 18 years. She was a member of the Niskayuna Reformed Church in Niskayuna, NY. In 1987 they retired to Cocoa Beach, FL where she worked for the Royale Towers Condo Association. Helen was predeceased by her husband,Jack. She leaves a son, Richard (Patti) of Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter, Kim (Bruce) Weston of Cocoa Beach, grandchildren, Emily (E.J.) O’Neill of Australia, Garet Gall and Macy Weston of Cocoa Beach, FL and two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Aidan. She also leaves two brothers, Michael Spencer of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Richard Spencer of Rockton, IL. She was a member of the Riverside Presbyterian church where she served as a Deacon, sang in the choir and played handbells. She was also a Guardian Ad Litem for Brevard County. Helen was kind, generous and caring. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. She touched so many peoples’ lives with her compassion. A great void has been left with her passing. Memorial services will be held at the Riverside Presbyterian Church Chapel in Cocoa Beach, FL on Saturday May 5, at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider any remembrance to Vitas Hospice Foundation, 4450 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 250, Melbourne, FL 32934 or to the Riverside Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
