Helen L Parker Feb 9, 1928 – May 5, 2021 Helen L. Parker, 93, died peacefully May 5 at the Mennonite Home in Albany, OR. She was born in Clatskanie, OR to Albert and Frances Canham. She graduated from Clatskanie High School in 1945. She married her High School sweetheart Donald A Parker on August 9, 1947, in the Clatskanie Methodist Church. She held various secretarial jobs throughout her career, and was a Court Recorder for Coos County Courts for 15 yrs. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Springfield Elks and Albany Enduring A’s Model A club. She was a member of the Methodist and Assembly of God Church in Coquille, OR; and, East Side Christian Church in Albany, OR. Helen enjoyed living at the Albany Mennonite Village for 17 yrs. Helen spent many years playing the piano for churches and civic groups. She loved playing piano for the Mennonite Village Chapel services and Quail Run lobby. One of the things she loved to do was to call her children and grandchildren on their birthdays playing happy birthday over the phone. Other hobbies included RVing with family and friends. Don and Helen were members of the Alpha RV Club. She also enjoyed knitting, scrap booking, gardening, boating, traveling in their Model A, and spending time with family. Helen is survived by sons Don and wife Candy in Albany OR; Dean and wife Lourita of Sparks, NV; grandchildren Shawn and wife Hillary Parker of Camas, WA; Nathan and wife Christina of Coburg, OR; Tiffany and husband Kyle Fergusson of Beaverton, OR; and great-grandchildren Taylor, Cole, Audrey, Brody, Nathalie, Chase and Parker. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Albert and Frances Canham, sister Lois Ryding, and brother George Canham. A celebration of life is planned in her honor August 14, 2021 at Don and Candy’s home in Albany. Donations may be made to Evergreen Hospice, 4600 Evergreen Place SE, Albany, OR, 97322.
