As a wife, a mama, and just a person in general Louise Porter displayed unconditional love for those she knew and even for those she didn't know. Her life was spent giving and doing for others despite her lot in life. She never worried about accumulating "things" because she knew that true happiness came from doing for others. Mama was without a doubt the epitome of the good Samaritan. She never complained about what she didn't have. She was, however, thankful for what she did have. Early on, mama knew the importance of being humble and giving of herself and she never steered away from that. She leaves a huge void in our hearts and in our lives but she also leaves a great testimony and an impact on our lives that can never be duplicated. She was preceded in death by her soulmate of 40 years, Leon Porter, on September of last year. She leaves behind six children; Patricia Crawford, Gayle Mills, Brad Floyd, Leon Porter Jr., Dale Porter, and Jeremy Porter. She was a grandmother as well as a great grandmother. She was a great wife, an incredible mama, and our hero. Until we meet again, goodbye for now sweet angel.

Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
