Mrs. Helen LaVerne Beal Thomas, 80, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 9th, at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Reverend Ted Aschenbrand officiating. Mrs. Thomas was born August 7, 1931, in Guilford County to the late John and Beulah Beal. She was married to Arthur L. Thomas Jr. and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was very active in her church and loved scrapbooking, sewing, and playing couples cards and games. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Arthur L. Thomas Jr.; sons, Kim Pierce and Bobby (Audrey) Pierce; Step-daughters, Tammy (Geoff) Wysor and Tonya (Edwin) Shoffner; step-son, Brock Thomas; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 141 Broadleaf Road, Reidsville, NC 27320. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home is assisting the Thomas family.
