All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Helen Wright
March 31st, 1956 - May 27th, 2011
Helen Sue Wright, Born 3/31/56 in Winslow, Arizona- Helen moved to Colorado in the late 1970’s, and has called Denver “home” ever since. In 1982, she went to work for Mountain Bell (Qwest), and continually rose through the ranks- ending her career as a United Way Coordinator. Over the years, she touched many lives with her community activism, and generous spirit. She had a gift for fundraising, and still holds the record for the most funds raised during a single season for the United Way for Quest. She enjoyed her role in organizing several annual Denver Cinco de Mayo celebrations. She “drank the kool-aid”, and participated in organizing activities and fundraising for the Boy Scouts of America. She was instrumental in organizing the “get out the vote” effort for the 2008 Obama Campaign. Helen loved to camp in the great Colorado wilderness, enjoyed movies, and had a great affinity for animals, flowers and all living things. She could walk in a room of 10 people, and walk out with 15 new friends. She is survived by her husband and partner of 8 years, Ted Franklin, son Jesse Wright (and wife Heather), daughter Carolynn Burling, and daughter Christina Roberts. Christina was God’s gift to Helen, as Chris came to live with Helen when she was three years old, living with Helen most of the time until Christina granduated high school. Helen will also be tremendously missed by her sister Ginna and brother- in- law, George Reyes. She is survived by 7 Grandchildren and a multitude of friends in California, Montana and Colorado. Her 10 year battle with Liver Disease is finally over. Her family and friends are heartbroken to lose her sparkling spirit. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday- June 1st at the Arvada Church of Christ, 6757 Simms Street, Arvada, Colorado, 80004. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS- a donation on behalf of her Grandson would be appreciated. To donate, you may deposit to the RYAN L. WRIGHT BENEFIT MEMORIAL FUND, at any Wells Fargo Bank in the United States.
