Henrietta J. (Penny) Thorp, 77, a longtime resident of Bradenton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Tuesday, April 18, 2017. She was born April 11, 1940 in Wood-Lynne, New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her parents Marie, Margaret, William Shute; husband, George; siblings, James Higginbotham, Caroline Eicholtz; daughter, Kathy. Penny is survived by her siblings, Elizabeth/Betty Morenc (Raymond); Cass Wade (Warren); Kay Higginbotham; Helen Harper (Ed); Walt Shute (Judy); Charles Eicholtz; Jimmy Shute; Harry Shute (Sue); her large blended family which includes sons, Joseph Zenobi (Tammy); Kevin Zenobi (Tamara); Tom (Jennifer); Michael (Jeneen); daughters, Marcie Hummer (Garry); Tracy; Kim; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; extended family and large circle of friends. Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205. Funeral Mass will be 10am Monday, April 24, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Drive, Sarasota, FL 34243. Burial will follow at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34203. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA, Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee or Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church.
